Friends,

I am pleased to announce that I have been invited to display in no fewer than three top-notch juried shows in the Tri-state area this summer.  Mark your calendar!

The image “http://www.summerfair.org/a_media/graphics/SFLogo-01.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

If you have the time, a visit to one of these shows would be well worth your time--a lot of really gifted artists will have their work on display and of course I would love to have you stop in to see me as well!  Personally, I am honored to be among the selection these juries have made.

If you were wondering where the February Newsletter was... I really didn't have much to report on so I didn't fill all your inboxes with empty emails. =]  Much of the winter was spent with my nose to the grindstone at school and on other commissioned projects that I don't include in my newsletters anyway. However, this month I have a few new pieces for your viewing pleasure (comments and feedback always welcomed!).  [Can't see 'em? Click Here]

Forgive me, this preview is not a sharp as I would have like to have shared, but I still haven't purchased the full version of the panoramic stitching program.  I treated this shooting outing as more of a dry run...  I will have to return when Great American Ball Park is lit-up for a ball game.  We are blessed with a beautiful skyline, we really are.  I had time to kill, so I spent about an hour just sitting on bench on the Kentucky side viewing this scene--it is safe, quite and yields great photos... what more could I ask for?

A big thank you to Brian and Jordan (2 friends of mine) for allowing me to photograph their new tipi.  I would love to do some more with the tipi theme in the future if they are up to it.  As a side note, we are members of the Grassy Run Historical Society / reenactment group--a shameless plug: they put on a great weekend of time-period dress, camping, and history lessons every spring in Williamsburg, OH.  What's great about this shot is that this tipi stands on the piece of earth that the Battle of Grassy Run was fought upon.  The Native encampment, if I have my facts straight, would have been  down a short slope just beyond the tree line in the background of my photograph.  This year's Grassy Run events will be the last weekend in April (feel free to email me for more info if you are interested in attending).

Stare into this one for a few seconds, it really pops out at you doesn't it!?!?

The symbolism of this photograph is really profound.  Those are vultures swooping in and resting upon the crest of this barn... You get the idea... and that theme is central to my "Planks of Our Lives" collection. [Click to Read my "Planks of Our Lives" Statement]
