| As the end
of November nears and the holidays approach, I am sure many of
you have begun planning for the holidays and the upcoming New
Year and I am no exception. I have spent
most of the month getting ready for 2009's show season.
I have put together a tentative
show schedule and began organizing
my applications.
I think that I have finally decided on my theme, and
I have
already begun passing my statement in an attempt to get
it to be just right. I am calling the new series of photo's I
will be displaying "The Planks of Our Lives." In short,
the barns and other wooden items of interest in my photos serve as
personified metaphors for aspects of human nature and character.
You can read what I have so far and see more of the photos
comprising the series at

Comments and feedback welcomed!
My first show of 2009 will run the
entire month of January in the
Riverside Coffee Shop in downtown
Batavia. I am very grateful to have been given the
opportunity to display new work right here in my hometown!
I am planning to designate one day during the show as a "Meet
the Artist" event... stay tuned for the day and time... you
will be the first to know for sure. =]
During the month of December, I will
have both large-scale and smaller matted prints available in several locations: the Riverside Coffee Shop,
the Row House Gallery in Old Milford, and the Stonelick This 'N
That store in Owensville.
The Row House has accepted one of my panoramic prints and will
be hanging it in their showroom. Be sure to thank these
kind folks for allowing me the opportunity to share my pieces
publicly. There is also an "Online Specials" page
on my website now with clearance & overstock items. Please stop in and take a look!
Another confirmed event is on June 1,
2009. I have been asked to present my work and discuss the
avenues I take to obtain dramatic detail and color in my photos
with the Photography Club of Greater
Cincinnati.
I am really excited about doing this!
If you know of any other worthwhile shows, or
if you
have any other ideas please let me know!--If you own a business
or are hosting a social gathering in the next few months and are
looking for talking pieces, I would love to arrange a private
showing or something of that nature.
I would also like to thank
those who are helping me brainstorm and design innovative displays & tent
designs for my upcoming shows. I am currently weighing
several very different options, but things are looking good on that front... and if
things continue in the direction they are going now... my 10x10
square will hopefully be
the main attraction at these shows... Possibly in Virtual
Reality style display... Really, really neat ideas
unfolding. Hopefully I will have an illustration or photo of
what I decide on in
next month's newsletter.
And now, finally, for the good stuff... a few of
my recent photos: [Can't see 'em?
